School construction in Albu Rayash village
In November 2004 Qandil, through Emergency Strategies, company (US-based),
carried out a first assessment in Al Door district in order to recognize
possible beneficiary villages. Eight villages (Sweeda 1 & 2,
Na’ama, Na’ama North, Albu Rayash, Eyadatelsdeed, Uthem
Al-Hadadiya and Al-Metloolha) were identified as places where IDP
families had expressed the wish to be resettled in their place of
origin. Albu Rayash village of Salah Al Din governorate was selected
as it hosts the most IDP families and was classified among the poorest.
The total (estimated) number of families in Albu Rayash is 90 of
which 70 families are IDP families, they are Sunni Arabs. The total
number of individuals is (estimated) 760 capita. In 2005, a six
classroom school was constructed. The project was financed by UNHCR.
