CONSTRUCTION AND INFRASTRUCTURE ACTIVITIES

Construction of a school in the village of Albu Rayash
Qandil received an enquiry from Salah al-Din province for assistance with the construction of a primary school in the village of Albu Rayash. The population comprises around 90 families who are Sunni Arabs. Cooperation was initiated and plans were drawn up for a school with six classrooms. Construction work started in 2005. The security situation in the area is unstable, which has made it difficult for Qandil to monitor and evaluate this work. The project was financed by UNHCR.

Roadworks Qandil has carried out extensive roadworks for a 7.5 km long feeder road in Barazi, Mosul Province. Work started in 2004 and was completed in 2005.
