Qandil selected to Friend of the Kurds of the Year in Sweden

The Chairman of Qandil Ms Marianne Andersson received the
award distributed by KRGs Minster of Sports and Youth Mr Taha Barwary.

The Annual Kurdish Gala was held on 22 January in Stockholm, Sweden. The prestigious awards were: ""Friend of the Kurds of the Year in Sweden", "Friend of the Kurds of the Year", and " Friend of the Kurds of the Annual Honorary Mention". The award “Friend of the Kurds of the Year in Sweden” was awarded to the Swedish Humanitarian Aid Development Organisation Qandil.

Long-term commitment to Iraq

Qandil has signed a 2-year contract with Sida for a development project addressing the water distribution network in Erbil City, Northern Iraq. Erbil City is the regional capital of Iraqi Kurdistan with approx 1 million inhabitants. The project team will include international expertise within water distribution network & management as well as public awareness and communication.
