Qandil has been working in Iraq since 1991, initially mainly in the north part but nowadays also in other parts of the country. The humanitarian activities have gradually been supplemented with development projects. The headquarters in Stockholm employs 3-4 staff and the Country Management Office employs around 100 staff. Local branch offices are located in Diyala, Kirkuk, Mosul and Baghdad. Qandil's annual budget is around 15 Million USD. The main donors are UNHCR, UNICEF, UNDP, IOM, Sida and DANIDA.
