Protection Assistance Volunteer – Erbil

QANDIL is a Swedish non-profit, non-political, non-religious humanitarian aid organization that was founded in 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden. Having continuously operated in the Kurdistan Region ever since, QANDIL’s main priorities of work are construction and infrastructure activities, refugee and IDP initiatives, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and capacity building.

QANDIL is looking for a volunteer to assist in the implementation of the PARC Refugee Project in Erbil. The Protection Assistance and Reintegration Center (PARC) is a joint project funded by UNHCR. The objective is to fulfill the rights of Refugees and Asylum Seekers by providing assistance with registration, legal aid, community services, and protection, all in a one-stop shop. The volunteer should be available 4 days a week until the end of September to fulfill various tasks as directed by the Refugee Team Leader and PARC Manager, including general administrative duties in the Field Office and accompanying field staff during household-level assessments.

A knowledge of design, graphic and video software would also be highly desirable as well as experience in managing online content including webpages and social media. The overall skills required for this position are to be able to clearly and concisely convey information in a manner that is appealing to non-humanitarian audiences including international media.

Outreach Team Leader – Erbil

QANDIL is seeking an Outreach Team Leader for its Outreach Project. The Outreach Team Leader will work on QANDIL’s Outreach Project, while reporting to the Outreach Project Manager. The project is a joint initiative by UNHCR and QANDIL, which aims to mobilize Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) within Erbil Governorate to build their own community-based mechanism for protection through volunteers. The project will commence in three key locations in Erbil governorate. The Outreach Team Leader, under the supervision of the Outreach Project Manager, will establish a connection with the communities, identify suitable ‘Outreach Volunteers’ and train them on basic protection principles, UNHCR’s Code of Conduct etc. Once trained, the OVs will be able to identify vulnerable cases in their communities and refer them to the Outreach Team Leader.

PARC Reporting Officer – Erbil

QANDIL is currently UNHCR’s largest implementing partner in Erbil Governorate.

The Protection, Assistance and Reintegration Center (PARC) is a joint initiative by UNHCR and QANDIL, which aims to uphold the rights of refugees, asylum-seekers and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) within Erbil Governorate. Through PARC, QANDIL employs over 200 full-time staff providing various types of services, including registration, legal aid, community services, protection monitoring, cash assistance and NFI distribution. The PARC Project is divided into two components: one focusing on IDPs and the other on refugees, operating in camps as well as urban areas.

Under the direct supervision of QANDIL’s PARC Managers, the PARC Reporting Officer will play a leading role in the development and implementation of internal/external communication related to the PARC Project. The Reporting Officer will be responsible for designing a dynamic visibility and communication plan for PARC. S/he will assist in monitoring data quality, reporting on general protection trends and charting/visualizing data in a skillful manner.
